What Agencies Look For In A Portfolio?

When agencies or casting directors review portfolios, they are usually looking for a clear, natural representation of you, along with a few images that show personality and versatility.

A strong portfolio normally includes:

Model Digitals
Clean, simple images that show your natural appearance.

Professional Headshots
Clear portraits that focus on your face and expressions.

Personality or Creative Images
Photographs that show movement, confidence, and individuality.

The goal isn’t to have hundreds of images, but rather a small selection of strong photos that highlight your potential.

If you're new to modelling, don’t worry — during your session you'll be guided through posing, expressions, and outfit choices so we can create a portfolio that feels natural and professional.

What are model digitals?

Model digitals (sometimes called polaroids) are simple, natural photographs that show what you look like without heavy styling or editing.

These are the types of images modelling agencies request when considering new talent, as they allow them to see your natural features, proportions, and overall look.

Digitals are usually photographed with:

• Minimal makeup
• Simple clothing (such as jeans and a plain top)
• Clean backgrounds
• Natural expressions and poses

Typical digitals include:

• Front facing
• Profile
• Half body
• Full length

During your session, I’ll guide you through the poses and ensure your images meet the standard format that agencies expect.
